Having a plan in every area of your life means the difference between getting on the course that you desire or not. By planning, you are making a map to guide you in the direction of your goal. Let’s say you want a homemade hamburger and two sides of veggies for supper. When you go to the store, you will plan to get the meat and veggies that you need to prepare this. If you don’t, you won’t be able to prepare it. It’s that simple. But for some reason, we don’t always take that simple concept and apply it to our lives.

If you are wanting to take charge of your health, you might think about it and want to, but do you make a plan? Making a plan is really the easy part. Sticking to that plan is where the work comes in. Everyone is different. Some people make a plan and do it, end of story. Some people make a plan, then make another one because that one didn’t work, and make another one because that one didn’t work, and so on. We all have the same faculties as anyone else, we just need the tools to do it. Use these tools every day and they will change your life.

  1. Power: I want you to know that you have Power – the power to direct your life. Most people don’t realize this. No, you may not be able to control everything that happens to you, but you can control how you react to it, and that will change everything. Every piece of your life has made you into who you are now. This means every event and how it is lived out will mold you into the person that you will be. When a reporter once asked Thomas Edison, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.” That brings us to the next tool.

  1. Determine what you want: What is it that you have always wanted to do but haven’t?

  1. Lay out the steps: It takes a step-by-step process to make a plan work. Figure out what you want to do and make a step-by-step plan of what needs to be done to make it happen. Break it down to make it best fit you.

  1. Be specific but realistic: Don’t decide that you are going to loose 100 pounds in 2 weeks. Be sure that you are setting reasonable expectations.

  1. Make a time frame: If you don’t have a time limit, what is going to make you push through? If you only get half way there, YAY! You are that much further than you were and now you only have half way to go. Set a new time frame for that.

  1. Create visuals: I LOVE sticky notes. I stick them everywhere. I also love using markers to write on mirrors and windows. These are examples of having visuals everywhere to remind you of your direction. Use whatever works best for you.

  1. Visualize in your mind: This is the secret tool. It is not widely mentioned in conversation yet is a tool that will give fuel to your progress. Visualizing your plan over and over, then visualizing the result of your plan will be one of the most important things you can do to guarantee success.

I hope that you find every success that you are looking for and that this information is the map to get you there. Blessings.
